This new software integrates the rich functionality and features of Drupal, the open source platform used to create GreatBrewers.com, with Android, the open source platform used to create BeerCloud. The utilization of powerful features including GPS, a barcode scanner, and user-generated content make BeerCloud a first for the beer, wine, and spirits industry. BeerCloud helps you pair beer with food, track down your favorite beers in your neighborhood, and pull up a full description of any beer with a scan of its barcode. For a comprehensive case study on Drupal.org, please click here.
The mission of GreatBrewers.com is to bridge the gap between the world’s great brewers and distributors and the consumers who enjoy their products, with paramount focus on education, enhancing beer distribution practices, and beer-related social networking. The new GreatBrewers.com is making it easier than ever for beer fans to discover, learn about, and locate great beer anytime (all the information is stored on Internet) and via any device (e.g. any mobile device such as Android and iPhone).
In general, BornFree functions as an image gallery with node-text on splash page. So far, although there are many good image galleries out there, few of them does a good job of displaying a large block of text, which associates with the image. Therefore, BornFree was engineered as an image gallery that does text rendering (not only just caption, or title). The second motivation is that since there are a lot of nodes with attached images. Why not display them in a nice way on the front page, while it updates/maintains once a new node is created, taking advantage of Drupal.
